The best way to cure your anal fissure and hemorrhoids is the one that makes the most sense, but is also the easiest to neglect. Get more sleep and rest.
When I visited an anorectal doctor to get diagnosed for my condition, he told me that the primary cause of the anal fissure is stress. Type A personalities tend to get anal fissures more than other personalities. These people take a lot of things on themselves and internalize their emotions. They tend to take criticism personally and use it to motivate themselves to do more and get better at what they are trying to achieve. They are competitive, drive hard and work hard. Unfortunately, this way of thinking will not heal your fissure.
The way to heal your fissure is to focus on your mental health. You are already probably stressed from your work and family life, and the fact that you are under extreme physical pain only magnifies it. Follow the strategies and techniques I laid out above. But in the end, take a deep breath and let go.
I had been experiencing the worst physical pain of my life every day for two years straight. There was no end in sight. I was desperate and tried everything. I knew that my body had the capacity to heal itself, so I refused to go through surgery. In the end, my body healed itself after I took a three week vacation. I didn’t travel anywhere or make any plans. The vacation had coincided with a variety of factors, and I hadn’t planned on it, but since I had three weeks off, I decided to use it to my advantage. I dedicated it to myself. I slept in. I took walks and ate better. I took naps and rested my body. I practiced all the techniques above consistently and frequently. I did the garlic treatment two to three times a day, and did a gallbladder cleanse twice in three months. I went to sleep early and woke up late.
Within one week, my pain was noticeably different. It was still there and quite loud, but it was less intense than before. After two weeks it was somehow manageable. My skin tag dried up and fell off. I could feel the tissue in my anus and rectum become more taught. After three weeks the pain was gone, but the area was incredibly itchy now and I had an uncontrollable urge to scratch it. I did Kegels anytime I felt the area itch and gave it a good massage after using the bathroom and washing the area under water in the bathtub. After a month I no longer needed to squat while using the toilet and could enjoy sitting on the seat once again while briefly reading a book or magazine.
I was fully recovered and grateful to have my life back. I was pain free for several months. Then my wife gave birth to our child. I couldn’t get any sleep. I started drinking again. I was overeating on many occasions. I started drinking espressos and lattes, and hot chocolates. Gradually, I noticed a small bump in my anal area. I would sometimes get up from the toilet and notice blood had stained the water red. The pain started creeping back. I ignored it and after a couple weeks, the pain was fully back again. How could this happen? After all I had done to cure myself, it was all coming back again.
I started drinking burdock root tea. I started drinking lotus root tea. I picked up all the practices from before and focused again on my health. I was never able to get the same amount of sleep as before, but as I kept up my practice and internalized the healthy habits, the pain started receding. I knew more about Kegels this time, and focused on that. I noticed that on days where I did many sets of Kegel exercises, the next day I had a very smooth, quick bowel movement. I started drinking rehmannia tea. Once again, the end was in sight and after a couple weeks I was finally pain free again.
The journey to curing your anal fissure does not happen overnight, but you can take steps to start getting better right now. Trust me, this is something that you can do. I have cured myself without surgery after countless nights of crying into my pillow, hoping that I would die somehow so that I wouldn’t have to experience the pain the next day on the toilet. It is an ongoing process, and you will have to change some aspects of your life. But you will feel better, and the benefits you will receive will far greatly outweigh whatever it was you felt you gave up.
Lastly, believe in yourself! Your body knows how to heal itself. The purpose of this book is to make sure you are not doing any more harm to your body, so that you can clear the best possible avenues for your body to do its job in getting back to health.
